It's cool to be cool for yourself. I've been thinking a lot lately about ego, and the sin of pride. I think they are at the root of a lot of the world's problems. But, yeah, this is very cool!
I made some very unsatisfactory non-raw rosehip syrup last week. Am going to give this one a try now - we still have a fair few rosehips in the garden, and there are loads of bejewelled bushes along the road down into the village.
Thanks Dan! But why was it unsatisfactory? What happened? What pitfalls await me? Currently, our jar is oozing in a very promising fashion and smells delightful. 🤞
The recipe said to make it with dark brown sugar, which I thought might be a bit overpowering but I followed the recipe anyway and... it was a bit overpowering. Just tastes like murky brown sugar syrup. Did a bit better with my elderberry cordial, but my elderberry jam turned into fruit leather.
Hi Mariann! They are prickly, but the trees were so full of hips that I didn't have any trouble - I simply snipped a few off overhanging branches and moved onto the next tree. No need to get into the thorns!
