That's an awesome effort on the plane travel, and I totally agree about the increased joy and satisfaction of overland journeys. I flew much more than I'd have liked to throughout my 20s (pretty necessary when you live in Australia and want to see anything outside of Australia), but after this year and my current cycle trip (that, disappointingly, I flew to), I plan to emulate your trend.
