Who am I?
My name is David Charles and I’m a writer and outdoor instructor based in the UK.
I’m co-writer of BBC Radio Wales sitcom Foiled and cyclist-at-large with Thighs of Steel. I also work with a smattering of environment, adventure and refugee organisations including The Bike Project and Global Landscape Forum.
When I’m not writing, I help kids of all ages have adventures in the outdoors, on foot and on bike.
Every Friday, I’ll send you one completely original 800-3000 word story that will help you make a little more sense of the world. It could be a report from inside a Greek refugee camp, a behind-the-scenes look at writing a BBC sitcom, or a deep dive into the science of psychedelics. Check out the archives for a flavour.
I love getting emails so feel free to hit reply whenever inspiration strikes—questions, comments, stories and suggestions all welcome.
