Passport and profile scanners, Doctor Who style metal detectors, and magic hidden carousels that take the security bag check tubs back to the front of the queue automatically - just three of the innovations new to airports since I last took a flight.

And they still haven't invented screaming child silencers.

I have landed in Austria for the Elevate Festival. Snow seems to have disrupted pretty much everything else this week, so why not this newsletter? Normal service will be resumed next Friday...
